Photographs capture a fraction of a moment in time. Modern cameras work at shutter speeds of up to 1/8000th of a second – an imperceptible passing fragment of our world. Yet the camera makes this fleeting moment solid; it imprints the instant as an image that can be contemplated, viewed again. It is the camera’s ability to show the things we never quite manage to see that particularly interests me – and this strange tension between time and the timeless.

A different light is an ongoing project. The website is divided into three main sections. The India section contains series of images of Indian religious festivals, the Carnival section concentrates on Belgian Mardi Gras celebrations and the Landscape section contains recent work on the British coastline.

New material will continue to be added to the site, so please check back again in the future. Please click here if you would like to contact me or if you would like to go on the a different light mailing list.
